Countdown to EWMD International Conference in Brussels

Only two weeks to go until the EWMD 25th International Conference in Brussels and the International Board AGM

Dear Members and Guests

We are now counting the days to Brussels and are all very excited at the prospect of getting together on this great occasion. The statistics of the registrations speak for themselves regarding the diversity of the participants of the event, a core part of the heart of EWMD. Not only do we have members and guests coming from 16 different nations we also have some representatives from the younger generations which fits in nicely with the development of the 3GL project to be presented by Elisabeth Blum.

Please check the event page for all the informaiton you need concerning your trip to Brussels. You will find some excellent addresses and places to visit much of which has been recommended, tried and tested by our event organiser Claudia Schmitz who is always a good source for good sources!

http://www.ewmd.org/events/25th-international-ewmd-conferenc...

important documentation includes the main programme,  our locations in Brusssels., how to reach the hotel as well as some details and tourist information..

We are all very much looking forward to listening and speaking to some of our founding members such as  Ambra Poli and Margit Wallsten who will give a short insight of the history of EWMD. Angelika Poth Mögele who was the Secretary General of EWMD International for many years.
Christine M Merkel, Head of Division for Culture and Memory of the World, German Commission for UNESCO will set a picture of the big milestones for women in the last 25 years, seen from a cultural perspective on Europe and Elizabeth Trallero, Entrepreneur in Barcelona, who will present some facts and figures around women in management in Europe. And what better way to do this than in the framework of a world café...this time with a bit of a difference.

Our visions of tomorrow will be presented by Britt Solvik was EWMD president in 1999-2001 and is now on boards of several organisations in Norway. Gabriele Hantschel, also President of EWMD in 2003-2005, who will bring some new  topics on the subject. Brigitte Schraetzenstaller-Rauch from Sandoz, who will share the
position of a Corporate Member in this topic and their alternatives to quotas. And last but not least, Ninja Schmeer will give a spotlight iher situation today and her ideas about the future and networking.

Our International Presidents, Nicola Meissner and Tina Reisenbichler are both looking forward to the event and to being able to share the international flair of EWMD at the conference and the AGM. For all members who have signed up for the AGM, please study the documentation which has been posted by our international secretary, Andrea Weber.

Many thanks to Claudia Schmitz, Andrea Weber and all those who have been involved in the organisation of what promises to be a great celebration of the past, the present and the future of EWMD International!

Looking forward very much to seeing you all there,

Best wishes

Helen
