In 2011 the Robert Schuman Foundation, with the support of the European Commission and in partnership with the Constantinos Karamanlis Institute for Democracy and the Polish Robert Schuman Foundation is launching an awareness raising campaign amongst women in Europe with regard to the European Citizens’ Initiative.
As of April 1st 2012, all European citizens and therefore women will be able to ask the European Union to set out new legislative proposals on condition that they collate 1 million signatures. Women will be able to express what they think thanks to the European Citizens’ Initiative, the new instrument established by the Lisbon Treaty.

The survey results will be published during a conference that will take place on 21st September 2011 at the European Parliament in Brussels with leading European personalities in attendance.
